Reasonable & Responsible Development

Most of us here in Oro Valley have noticed the large amount of construction going on in our town. Our town’s last remaining bits of buildable land seem to be getting built out quickly. Of course, these pieces of land are privately owned, and the owners have every right to build on it- as long as they follow the zoning codes and ordinances that apply to their property. They have a right to request that these things be changed, but the town management does not necessarily have to agree to change them.

No one wants to stop all building in Oro Valley- time moves and things change. However, we can do much to make sure our town is striking a balance between providing for our human citizens and preserving the irreplaceable beauty that makes our town extra special, and with a realistic view of the climate issues that are certain to affect us more and more in the future. A town council who doesn’t accept campaign donations from real estate developers is the way to ensure impartial decisions when zoning request arise!
